The tree is moderately vigorous, semi-dwarf or medium in growth habit, forming a spreading, dense crown with shoots that often grow in a zigzag pattern. The fruit weighs 30–50 g and is spherical or spherical-conical in shape. The color is greenish-yellow with a dark red or purple blush, covered with an intense bluish waxy bloom.

The fruit flesh is yellowish, dense, rather firm, sometimes with red spots under the skin, and has a sour, tart taste with a high tannin content. The variety is late-summer or autumn-maturing, highly productive, and enters into fruit-bearing 2–3 years after planting.

The fruit is not consumed fresh, but features good keeping quality and is used for processing into jelly, jam, compotes, and ciders. The variety has high winter hardiness, relative resistance to scab and blossom wilt (Monilinia laxa), and is used as an ornamental plant and a pollinator for other apple trees.
