The name is used in foreign literature as a translated equivalent for varieties of the «naliv» (transparent/translucent) type. Most often it is associated with the «Lodi» variety, which is an improved form of «Белый налив» with larger fruits, increased flesh firmness, and an extended shelf life.

This name is also applied to the tetraploid mutation «White Transparent» that originated in Illinois. External characteristics of the fruit when identified as «Lodi» include a conical shape and yellow-green skin, while the economic characteristics correspond to early-summer varieties suitable for culinary use and fresh consumption.
