Llistada varieties are the result of folk breeding and were historically grown in the Arbúcies valley. Today, they represent value as objects of conservation of genetic diversity and agricultural heritage, rather than as commercial varieties with official registration.
The fruits of these apple trees are characterized by striped skin coloration. Historically, they were valued for good keeping quality, which allowed the harvest to be stored in outbuildings until the following summer. They were used mainly for fresh consumption, as well as for livestock feed.
