The Jonagored (Morren's Jonagored) variety is a spontaneous bud mutation of the Jonagold variety. It differs from the parent variety by an intense, saturated red fruit surface color, which develops earlier and more consistently.

The fruits of this clone possess juicy cream-white flesh with flavor characteristics typical of the Jonagold group. The variety is industrial and intended for use as a dessert apple.
