The variety is of folk origin and is traditionally widespread in Slovenia. The tree is medium-sized, resistant to adverse conditions, tolerates cold well, and is suitable for cultivation in high-altitude areas. Fruiting is regular and abundant.

The fruits are small, round-elongated or round-cylindrical in shape, with firm golden-yellow skin, often having a reddish-brown blush. The flesh is yellowish-white, firm and juicy, possesses a wine-acidic taste and a strong aroma. The fruits are suitable for long-term storage until May.

The variety is used for fresh consumption and is also a valuable raw material for the preparation of traditional apple wine, juices, vinegar, and for drying.
