The variety is part of the pomological heritage of the Calvados region. The fruits have a bittersweet taste, are characterized by an absence of pronounced acidity, and are used in blends for traditional regional beverages.

The tree's flowering period occurs in May, and harvesting begins in December. The variety is included in the official CTPS catalog of France as a variety of national interest.
