The tree of this variety does not reach large sizes, begins fruiting early, and forms a rounded, somewhat spreading crown. At a young age, the plant is demanding of growing conditions. The variety is diploid and genetically unique.

The fruits are of medium or below-medium size, predominantly egg-shaped. The skin has a yellowish ground color and a dark pale-red overcolor. The flesh of the fruit is white, fine-textured, and possesses a characteristic spicy taste. To achieve the most intense fruit coloration, it is recommended to ripen them in light sun.

The variety belongs to the late group; harvesting occurs in October, and the consumption period begins in January-February. It is used as a dessert variety, and less frequently as a culinary one. It has a number of synonyms, including Dufäpplen and Almindelig rød Pigeon.
