The fruits of the variety have a truncated-conical shape with a wide base, often ribbed, with a characteristic red or yellow-red color. On seedling rootstocks, the trees exhibit vigorous growth. The fruits are prone to shedding from the tree.

The variety has a universal purpose; the fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary processing, as well as for the production of juices and cider. The name of the variety is associated with extensive synonymy, due to which it is often confused with other historical varieties of the «Rambour» group.
