The variety has been known since before 1850 and is traditional to Luxembourg and adjacent regions. The tree is characterized by disease resistance and requires minimal care. The fruiting type is characterized as partial fruiting on the ends of shoots, which must be taken into account during pruning.

Fruits are green with a red blush. The flesh is cream-colored, firm, coarse-grained, tender, and juicy, with a sweet-and-sour taste. The variety is a winter type; the consumption period for the fruits falls between January and March.
