The classic variety, bred in 1932 by crossing "Champanren-kitayka" and "Yakhontovoye", is characterized by vigorous growth and a sparse crown. The variety's fruits lost their original traits during development: the bright red color changed to yellowish-green with a blush, and the taste deteriorated, which is why the variety was not included in official standards.

In modern retail, a columnar apple tree, also known as "Alye Parusa", is often offered under this name. The compact tree reaches a height of about 2.5 meters and is resistant to scab and other diseases. The early autumn ripening fruits have a round-conical shape, a mass of 160–250 g, a bright red color, and sweet, juicy flesh.
