The Renetta Grigia di Torriana variety from the Piedmont region features medium-sized, flattened fruit with skin completely covered in russet. The flesh is creamy white, firm, and juicy. The tree is undemanding, and the late-maturing fruit has high keeping quality.

Grey Autumn Rennet is a vigorous, high-yielding tree with medium to large fruit, which have a flat-spherical shape. The skin is yellowish-green, often covered with bronze-grey russet. A notable feature is the fruit's tendency to drop upon ripening.

French Grey Rennet is characterized by medium to large, blunt-spherical fruit. The skin is pale yellow with grey-brown russet; the flesh is tender, juicy, and has a spicy flavor. Like the Grey Autumn Rennet, this variety exhibits poor fruit attachment to branches at maturity.
