The variety is an industrial, late-maturing type: harvest takes place in the first half of October, and the consumption period lasts from November to January. The tree is characterized by high growth vigor and an upright crown shape. The crop is not self-fertile and requires cross-pollination, while the variety itself serves as a good pollinator for other apple trees.

The fruits are distinguished by a high sugar content with a refractometric index of 16–17 and a low level of bitterness, making them valuable for cider production. The variety has moderate sensitivity to scab and powdery mildew. In a historical context, the variety was long considered lost and was restored as part of the regional genetic heritage of France.
