The apple variety «Ronzè» (also «Ronzé», «Runsè») was identified in the 1870s in the vicinity of Osasco. Researchers classify it as a representative of the «Renette Rosse» group and note a possible genetic similarity to the French variety «Grenoble».

The fruits of the variety have been studied in scientific publications as a source of polyphenols. Chemical composition studies show differences in the polyphenol profile compared to modern commercial varieties and a low content of anthocyanins in the flesh.
