The variety is a traditional local cultivar, historically widespread in the Emilia-Romagna region, Italy. The tree is characterized as medium-sized with a spreading crown, and is noted for its low-maintenance requirements and high fertility.
Fruits are medium-sized (85–95 g), round or slightly conical in shape, sometimes with ribbing. The skin is smooth, waxy, greenish-yellow, often with a pinkish blush and visible lenticels. The flesh is white, juicy, firm, and crisp, with a sweet-and-sour taste.
The variety is late-maturing: harvesting begins in mid-October. The fruits have high keeping quality, retaining freshness and aroma until April under ordinary storage conditions.
