The variety belongs to the autumn group. Fruits are of medium size, grayish-yellow color with a clay-pink blush and carmine stripes, sweet-sour taste. Trees can reach large sizes, although on some rootstocks they demonstrate more restrained growth. The variety is universal, suitable for fresh consumption and cider production.
The plant begins to bear fruit late; on seed rootstocks, the entry into bearing is delayed until 8–10 years. The variety is susceptible to apple canker and scab. Due to susceptibility to diseases, it is rarely used in commercial horticulture, but is preserved as an important genetic resource.
There is intraspecific variability, in particular, the presence of various clones, which is characteristic of varieties of folk selection.
