The tree is vigorous, forming a broad-pyramidal crown. The variety has relative resistance to scab and canker; however, the tree is sensitive to winds and prone to bitter pit.

Fruits are of medium size, spherical in shape. The skin is smooth, yellow-green in color with an intense red blush. The flesh is yellowish-white, fine-grained, moderately juicy. Harvest maturity occurs from late September to mid-October; fruits store until January–March.

The variety is of dessert purpose, historically used for room decoration due to the festive appearance of the fruits. It is also suitable for various types of culinary processing.
