The tree is characterized by hardiness, early onset of bearing, and a lack of tendency toward alternate bearing. Fruit ripening occurs earlier than that of the Golden Delicious variety, but can be uneven over time.

The medium-sized fruits have green-yellow skin with an orange-red or dark-red striped blush. The flesh is cream-colored, crisp and juicy, possesses a sweet-sour taste, and is suitable for fresh consumption or processing.

The variety is a valuable genetic resource, which is preserved within the framework of biodiversity projects. The fruits have moderate keeping quality when stored in cold storage chambers.
