The Wiensürken variety is a historical local cultivar characteristic of the Rhineland region in Germany. There is no data on its breeding origin or parental forms, and it is viewed primarily as an object for the conservation of genetic diversity within the framework of regional projects.

Available publications lack detailed morphological descriptors of the fruit, as well as information on the maturity group, tree growth characteristics, and disease resistance. The reproductive material of the variety is available for acquisition through specialized “mother orchards” in North Rhine-Westphalia.
