The Netun variety was created within the framework of breeding programs at the Swedish branch of the seed association in Ultuna. The main goal of the breeding was to obtain plants possessing resistance to infestation by stem nematode.
This lucerne variety is characterized by high winter hardiness, the indices of which are close to the parameters of the Tuna variety. It was used primarily as a forage crop.
