A tree with a spreading, compact crown, reaching a height of 2.5 to 5 meters depending on conditions and rootstock. The variety is self-fertile and is often grafted onto quince rootstocks to accelerate fruiting, which usually begins in the 2nd–4th year.
Fruits are medium-sized, round in shape, brown when ripe, with creamy flesh and a spicy flavor. Harvest takes place at the end of October after the first frosts, after which the fruits require a softening period in a cool place.
The plant has winter hardiness down to -20...-25°C and resistance to major pests and diseases, with the exception of potential susceptibility to fire blight. The variety is used for dessert purposes and in landscape design due to its beautiful flowers and autumn foliage color.
