Variety description

10 August 2026

Miscanthus giganteus variety Verum is a perennial herbaceous plant with strong, rigid, tubular stems. The variety is a sterile hybrid that does not reproduce by seeds and is propagated vegetatively through rhizome division, due to which it does not exhibit invasiveness.

Under favorable conditions, the plant forms a vigorous bush reaching a height of 2.5–3 meters. The variety possesses high adaptability to the temperate climate and resistance to stem lodging.

The plant's biomass is used in the energy sector for fuel production, as well as in industry for the manufacture of paper, cardboard, cellulose, bio-packaging, and biopolymers. In agriculture, the variety is used as animal bedding.
