Inflorescences are dense, pyramidal in shape, consisting of a large number of petals. The plant has narrow linear leaves. Flowering occurs in April–May, with the variety retaining its decorative qualities longer than standard species and rarely setting seeds.

The variety is frost-resistant (USDA zone 4, down to –34...–35 °C), resistant to diseases and pests. It propagates vegetatively by bulb division. Used for rock gardens, mixed borders, container gardening, and is suitable for forcing.
