The variety belongs to the Oriental tobacco group and was developed at the Tobacco and Tobacco Products Institute in Plovdiv. It is used both as an independent variety and as a parental form in the creation of hybrids.

In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned as a reference object for studying the inheritance of quantitative traits, such as plant height, number of leaves, and total dry mass. Studies confirm the role of additive gene effects when crossing this variety with other lines.
