The variety belongs to the group of oriental tobaccos of the “Dzhebel” type. It was bred by crossing the wild species Nicotiana debneyi and a tobacco variety of the “Basma” type (Basma 239). The use of the wild species in breeding was aimed at obtaining genetic resistance to pathogens.

The plant possesses dominant resistance to downy mildew and black shank. The variety is distinguished by good drought tolerance. Due to its characteristics, it is used in breeding programs as a source of beneficial genes and exhibits heterosis when creating first-generation hybrids.

The variety is classified as high-quality oriental tobacco intended for use in the tobacco industry.
