The plant reaches a height of 1.2–1.5 m and forms 20 to 26 leaves measuring approximately 60×30 cm. The variety is mid-late maturing, with a growing season of up to 140 days. The leaves are light green during the growing season, turn yellow upon ripening, and become elastic and acquire a brown color after air-curing.

The sugar content is less than 0.8–1%, and nicotine levels vary from 1.4% to 4.5%. The smoke flavor is described as strong and protein-heavy. A modification, TN 90 LC (Low Converter), exists with a reduced rate of nicotine conversion to nornicotine to decrease the content of tobacco-specific nitrosamines.

The variety possesses complex resistance to tobacco mosaic virus, tobacco etch virus, tobacco vein mottling virus, potato virus Y, black root rot, wildfire, and black shank. Due to its stem structure, the plant is resistant to lodging and is easy to process.
