The Virginia 423 variety belongs to the species Nicotiana tabacum L. In official documents, the variety is also referred to as «Вірджинія Подільська» and is registered with the National Center for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine.

Data on the morphological characteristics of the variety are limited to the results of experimental crosses. In particular, when using the variety in hybridization, the number of leaves on first-generation plants was 25. Specific agronomic indicators and technological characteristics of the variety are not presented in the sources.
