The plant reaches a height of 30 to 70 cm depending on growing conditions. It has green leaves with a sweet-spicy aroma and pinkish-purple flowers. The variety is characterized by high regeneration capacity after cutting and an intense flavor.

Ajaka possesses resistance to Fusarium, Botrytis, and Pythium, and shows tolerance to low temperatures. It is used as a culinary herb, as well as an ornamental potted plant or an element of landscape design.
