The plant has large leaves with a shape resembling classic green basil. At maturity, the bush reaches a height of 40 to 60 cm. The growth habit is described as bushy with dense foliage, sometimes with a loose structure.
The taste of the variety is sweet, similar to the Sweet Genovese variety. Due to the intense pigment, sauces may acquire a grayish tint during heat treatment, so the basil is more often used fresh for salads, sandwiches, and as a garnish for dishes.
The variety is a heat-loving annual that requires regular watering. The leaves are fragile and sensitive to mechanical damage. In addition to culinary use, the basil is used for decorative purposes to landscape borders and containers.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
