The Dulzal variety, also known as Dulzal de Carmona, is used primarily as a table variety. Studies of the biochemical composition of the fruits confirm the presence of phenolic compounds and quercetin.
The plant is susceptible to verticillium wilt, caused by the pathogen Verticillium dahliae. Genetically, the variety shares a high degree of similarity with the Manzanilla de Sevilla variety, which complicates their differentiation using molecular methods.
