The Casaliva (Drizzar) variety has an ancient history of cultivation in the Lake Garda area of Italy. The name Drizzar became attached to the variety due to its late and gradual fruit ripening, which allowed farmers to obtain a stable harvest.

The variety is classified as oil-bearing and serves as a key component for the production of high-quality olive oil with a protected designation of origin. Harvesting usually begins in the second ten-day period of October.

Oil from this variety possesses a medium-intense fruity flavor with notes of fresh grass, green apples, almonds, artichokes, and aromatic herbs, as well as a characteristic pungency and a long aftertaste.
