Variety description

The plant differs from meadow timothy (Phleum pratense) by its smaller size, the presence of a bulbous swelling at the base of the stem, and a diploid chromosome set. Its height ranges from 10 to 70 cm, and its spike-like panicles are smaller in size and thickness.

The species forms a dense turf with short shoots and retains a green leaf color during the winter period. The variety is characterized by high regenerative capacity after drought and resistance to intensive load, which makes it suitable for use in special grass mixtures.
