The variety is intended for use in forage production. As part of grass mixtures, for example with red clover, it contributes to increased yield, improved nutrient balance in the sward, and the suppression of weeds.
The plant is adapted to boreal climatic conditions and possesses winter hardiness. The productivity of the variety allows it to be used as a control standard when evaluating new breeding lines, however, the sole use of timothy in the diet may reduce crude protein content compared to legume components.
