The variety belongs to the very early group in terms of time of inflorescence emergence. In official UPOV documents, Adam 1 is used as a reference variety for evaluating the heading period of smooth meadow-grass.

The plant is intended for agricultural use, including the establishment and overseeding of permanent pastures and meadows. The variety also participated in field trials to study the forage qualities of grasses.
