The variety Adelphi is a perennial rhizomatous-bunchgrass plant capable of forming a dense sod through the development of underground shoots. The variety was developed in the USA at Rutgers University as part of a program for breeding improved turf grasses.
Currently, the variety is classified as a historical representative of breeding from past decades. Due to the age of the variety, detailed agronomic descriptions, such as disease resistance indicators or quantitative morphological characteristics, are absent in modern sources.
