Variety description

The variety was obtained by controlled crossing of a Populus deltoides clone from Iowa and a Populus nigra clone from Belgium. The variety was intended for use in forestry and applied purposes related to poplar cultivation.

Initial observations showed satisfactory resistance of the variety to bacterial canker and Marssonina brunnea. Subsequent studies revealed severe infection of plants of this variety by fungal pathogens, in particular leaf rust Melampsora.
