The variety is a hybrid of Populus trichocarpa (clone Fritzi Pauley) and Populus deltoides (clone S.620-225), obtained in 1969. It is characterized by intensive growth, especially in the first years of life, and demonstrates high rates of trunk diameter increment.

The wood of the variety possesses specific physical and mechanical properties that require special technologies during industrial processing. At present, the variety is considered of limited suitability for forestry and short-rotation plantations due to significant susceptibility to rust infection.
