The variety is the result of breeding work by the fruit research institute SCDP Constanța. Its pedigree goes back to a combination of the varieties Tarzii de Bucuresti, Ananas, Luizet, and Umberto 305.

The variety is characterized by its ability to maintain productivity under conditions of late spring frosts. Due to its characteristics, it is used in breeding programs as a donor of specific fruit qualities and growth vigor indicators.
