The variety is intended for commercial cultivation; the fruits are distinguished by rapid ripening and a relatively short shelf life after harvest due to the high activity of the polygalacturonase enzyme. A natural mutant of this variety called Rojo Pasión Precoz, which blooms approximately one week earlier, is described in the literature.
Due to its genetic characterization, the variety is often used as a reference object in scientific research related to gene expression analysis during fruit ripening or genome assembly. The planting material has been certified as free from a number of common viruses, including PNRSV, ApMV, ACLSV, and PDV.
