The variety is classified as susceptible to a number of diseases, including Plum pox virus (PPV) and phytoplasmosis causing yellowing of stone fruit crops. It is often a subject of comparative studies of fruit chemical composition and is used in evaluating the quality of processed products, such as fruit purees.

In commercial fruit growing, the variety is included in genetic resource collections. In the amateur sector, it is mentioned as a potential pollinator for some other apricot varieties, for example, the «Goldrich» variety.
