The «Sweet Red» variety is an early commercial variety. The tree is medium-sized, reaching a height of 3.5 to 5 meters, and possesses winter hardiness and resistance to fungal diseases, including moniliosis.
The fruits have a round shape, a weight of 60 to 120 grams, and an orange color with an intense red blush. The flavor of the fruits is dessert-quality, and the sugar content is 16–18 °Brix. Apricots of this variety have high transportability and are intended primarily for fresh consumption.
