The tree is characterized by medium or strong growth, forming a spherical or spreading pyramidal crown. The variety was obtained in 1965 from a seed of open pollination of the variety «Krasavitsa».
Fruits weighing 4.2–6.5 g have a broad-heart or broad-rounded shape and dark red, almost black skin. The flesh is dark red, juicy, of medium density, with a good sweet-tart spicy taste and an easily detachable stone.
The variety has good disease resistance and satisfactory winter hardiness, although frost damage is possible in unfavorable winters. It is self-sterile; for pollination, the varieties «Leningradskaya chernaya», «Tõmmu» or «Polli murel» are required.
