The variety is self-incompatible (genotype S1S5). Fruits are large, dark brown, almost black in color, with a matte sheen. The flesh is juicy, of medium density, with a sweet-and-sour taste and a pronounced aroma. The stone separates well from the flesh; fruits possess relative resistance to cracking.
Trees can grow at altitudes of up to 1000 meters above sea level. The variety is undemanding to soil type, tolerates heavy and calcareous soils, but is sensitive to poor aeration. The ripening period is extended and varies from June to the end of July. The variety reacts negatively to cold or wet weather during flowering.
Fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, canning, and the production of juices and distillates. The variety is of significant importance as a genetic resource and is used in breeding programs.
