The Cirasone variety is a historical variety distributed in the municipalities of Ceglie Messapica, Francavilla Fontana and San Michele Salentino. Fruits of this variety have historically been used by local farmers for sale on local markets in fresh form.

Morphologically, the fruits have a heart shape and a weight from 6.0 to 7.5 g. Upon ripening, the skin turns bright red. The flesh of the fruit is creamy white, of medium firmness, with a semi-freestone pit. The peduncle is of medium length and thickness.
