The variety was bred as a result of breeding work at the Fruit Research Station in Iași (SCDP Iași). The fruits are characterized by a large mass with a small stone size.

The plant belongs to local Romanian varieties. In scientific literature, the variety is studied in the context of yield, phenology, and adaptability when grown on various rootstocks, such as IP-C5, IP-C7, and Gisela 6.
