The variety was obtained by mutagenesis (irradiation of scions) of the parent variety Durone Nero II. It belongs to the duracina type sweet cherry group, which is characterized by firm and crunchy fruit flesh. The variety is used in breeding as a parental form for the development of new varieties.

The plant has reduced vigor, which defines it as a compact mutant suitable for intensive high-density planting. The fruit quality corresponds to the characteristics of the durone group, although the variety may be susceptible to fruit cracking depending on climatic conditions.
