The variety belongs to the late-maturing group, with a ripening period between June 20–30. The tree is characterized by high growth vigor, a spreading crown shape, and late flowering. The variety is self-incompatible; Durone I and Bigarreau Moreau are recommended as pollinators for cross-pollination.
The fruits are large and spheroidal. A characteristic feature is the firm consistency of the flesh, typical of the "durone" group. The fruit skin is red, and the flesh has a yellowish-white hue and a sweet taste. The variety originated as a local selection in the Modena and Bologna regions.
