IFG Cher-two
ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and forms a large, wide, sparse crown of conical or ovoid shape. The variety is self-sterile and requires pollinators such as Hedelfinger, Kunze, Van, or Dönissens Gelbe.
The fruits are large, broad-heart shaped, with shiny dark red skin covered with small subcutaneous dots. The flesh is light red, juicy, sweet, and cartilaginous. Due to the high density of the flesh, the fruits are well-suited for transportation and mechanized harvesting.
The variety possesses good winter hardiness, longevity, and relatively low susceptibility to bacterial canker. The fruits are of the table type, also suitable for processing, for example, for making compotes.
