The rootstock was obtained by hybridizing sweet cherry (Prunus avium L.) and sour cherry (Prunus cerasus). It is used for intensive horticulture, allowing for denser tree planting.
It is characterized by good compatibility with most modern sweet cherry varieties, although cases of growth disturbances have been noted when grafting onto certain varieties. The rootstock is sensitive to drought and is characterized by insufficient resistance to severe winter frosts.
