The variety was obtained through open pollination of Windsor seeds at the Summerland research station. The tree is vigorous and strong-growing; in the early years, the crown has a semi-erect habit, and in maturity, the height can reach 5 meters.

Fruits are medium-sized, about 27–28 mm in diameter, heart-shaped. At full maturity, the skin and flesh become dark red, almost black. The flesh is firm, which ensures good transportability.

The variety is self-incompatible and requires pollinators; flowering begins late, from the second week of April. It possesses high winter hardiness and resistance to bacterial canker, and the fruits are resistant to cracking during rain.
