IFG Cher-two
ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The tree is characterized by moderate to vigorous growth, forming a dense, eventually wide-spreading crown. Thin fruiting branches tend to droop under the weight of the crop; the variety shows sensitivity to the formation of “blind wood.” Flower buds are sensitive to spring frosts.
The fruits are large or very large, weighing 9–12 g and 28–30 mm in diameter, with an elongated heart shape. The skin is glossy, ranging from dark red to burgundy-black. The flesh is firm, juicy, dark red, with a pronounced aroma. A long fruit stem promotes good fruit ventilation.
The variety is self-incompatible; other varieties are required for pollination. The fruits have high transportability and keeping quality, allowing them to be used primarily for fresh consumption. The variety is valued for the good overall health of the tree.
